Now here is something that is either fun, maddening, insane, brilliant or all of the above.
Oh, that Damascus road!
As the masthead of this weblog says, we all know that there are times when reporters just don’t “get” religion. And then there are times when it seems that copy editors just don’t “get” what some religious terms mean or do not mean. It’s a puzzle.
Anglican pie fight: Update
As you may recall, I urged readers to let me know if there were any mainstream news updates on that strange event the other day at Grace Episcopal (or is that Anglican?) Church in Colorado Springs. I refer to the actions of 18-year-old Marcus Hyde, who attempted to hit Father Don Armstrong with a pie during a sermon on a rather timely topic: “Of Christian Love and Charity.”
Dignity, always dignity
You know things have gone a bit nuts when one of the hot stories of the week in conservative Episcopal circles (or is that Anglican circles now?) was whether police in Colorado Springs would investigate the motives (theological, political or otherwise) of any 18-year-old youth who tried (oh the humanities) to do a hit job on a leading conservative priest.
Did anyone say grace before dinner?

A 'fundamental' problem in 'B.C.' obits
All together now. Please take out your copy of The Associated Press Stylebook and turn to page 213 (in the edition currently on my desk) or look up the “religious movements” reference.
Fishy Washington Times biz story
I hope everyone is having a blessed Lazarus Saturday, which means that tomorrow is Palm Sunday. This is the rare year when the churches of the East and West will be celebrating Easter — Pascha in the East — on the same date.
Newsweek's error of biblical proportions
I had one of those days today that took no prisoners. Somebody must have drawn a line in the sand at some point, and I stepped over it without knowing what I was doing. Texans and John Wayne fans will get that reference.
Amen! More candor, please
Well, I really think I have to agree with veteran columnist and media critic John Leo. The following sentences are some of the strangest I have read in a major newspaper in a long time.
