Bobby Ross Jr.
Bobby Ross Jr. is an award-winning journalist who has reported from all 50 states and 15 countries in his three-decade professional career.
A former religion editor for The Oklahoman and religion writer for The Associated Press, Ross serves as editor-in-chief of The Christian Chronicle. He was honored as the Religion News Association's 2013 Magazine Reporter of the Year.
Ross got his first newspaper byline as a 16-year-old Texas high school sophomore in 1984.
In the 38 years since, he has produced thousands of news stories, trend pieces, features and columns. In the multimedia age, he also tweets, blogs and shoots photos and videos. He joined GetReligion's team of contributors in March 2010 and now writes the “Weekend Plug-In” column for Religion Unplugged.
A 1990 journalism graduate of Oklahoma Christian University, Ross lives in the Oklahoma City area with his wife, Tamie. Their family includes two sons, a daughter, a daughter-in-law and two absolutely perfect grandchildren.
